About the Author

In 2015, Colleen’s novel CONFESS won the Goodreads Choice Award for Best Romance. That was followed up in 2016 with her latest title, It Ends With Us, and she also won the Choice Award for Best Romance. In 2017, her title WITHOUT MERIT won best romance.

Her novel, CONFESS, was filmed as a series by Awestruck and is available on Prime Video via Amazon and iTunes. Katie Leclerc and Ryan Cooper star in the series.

Colleen founded The Bookworm Box, a charity bookstore and book signing event, with her family in 2015. The Bookworm Box hosts a book signing (Book Bonanza) each year which features over 200 authors as well as an annual auction to raise funds for food banks and other charities across the nation. To date, The Bookworm Box has donated over $1,000,000 to help those in need.

My Thoughts

There are some moments in the story that will shock you as well as surprise you, make you smile and cry. It also portrait the human desire and the length that one would go to achieve them. No matter what the cost.

Tate is a strong woman, capable of handling herself but something I felt she bend down a lot, though she didn’t approve from her heart, but her desire always got the best of her. But, somewhere I felt that she should have been strong against Miles. There is a saying, when you are in love there is nothing like winning and loosing. There were many heartbreak moments in Tate’s love story where you really start feeling that she should leave Miles and ind someone more worth it than him.

But, in all this chaos, there is one important point in the story forgive and move on.

Forgive and Move On

In most of the story, you would dislike Miles. But, the question arises Why is Miles like that? Why isn’t he capable of loving someone? In some parts of the story, you find Miles falling head over heels for Tate but he doesn’t want to have any future with her Why?

But, when you come through Miles’s side of the story you understand the reason behind his behaviour.

We humans have a weird nature, we don’t remember good things, but we treasure the bad memories a lot, and we stay faithful to those memories. This is what happened with Miles, once mistake and he refuses to move on in his life. After understanding Miles’s behaviour, I too related to him, as I too refuse to move on from some memories of mine. Life and death are never in our control, and we refuse to believe in that; making our lives miserable each passing day. Losing our capability to see the good around us. I’m trying to do it myself, but moving on isn’t easy and neither it impossible. Taking one step at a time is the best option and author Colleen Hoover portrays it very beautifully in Ugly Love.

Summary:

Ugly Love is a story about an unlikely romance between Tate, a young woman who is afraid of love and commitment, and Miles, a pilot who has a tragic past. Tate is determined to keep their relationship strictly physical, but Miles gradually breaks down her walls by showing her the power of true love. Through their journey together, they discover that sometimes even the most painful parts of life can lead to beauty and happiness.

About the Novel

Ugly Love is a story about a strong minded women Tate and a handsome pilot Miles. Tate shift to Corbin department for her further study, that is where she met Miles for the first time. Miles was all drunk and broken, and he would only say one thing “I’m Sorry Rachel”in his sleep. Since, then both Tate and Miles felt a strong attraction for each other.

As the story goes on you find Tate bending many rules for Miles. All she wants to be close to Miles by any means possible which kind off make you think, is it worth it. But, all you can see Miles is not interested in love or relationship and no expectation from the future. As their relationship moves on Tate starts falling deeply in love with Miles, which makes her more curious to know about his incapability of falling in love with anyone else. All she wanted to know what happen between Miles and Rachel?

The reason is heartbreaking, but what can you accept from young kids.
