My Review

Sidney Sheldon is the best. This novel contains the case study of real court room drama. But I find this novel the best way to create awareness against children abuse and the after effects of those trauma.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

About the Author

Sidney Sheldon (1917-2007) was an American writer who won awards in three careers—a Broadway playwright, a Hollywood TV and movie screenwriter, and a best-selling novelist.

During his 38 years of being a Novelist, he has won hearts for many readers and earn many awards for his work.

Usually most of his novels are based on the determined women who persist in the tough world run by hostile men.

His novels always has so divergent end, that keeps the reader amazed and puzzle “what is she going to do next?”.

As he once said in the an interview “leave the guy hanging on the edge of the cliff at the end of the chapter.“

What I liked about this book

Neurological Disorder and Trauma

Now let’s talk about the book. If you have enjoyed the South Indian Dubbed Hindi Movie “Aparichit” which was inspired by this Novel (the story line is completely different than the book) then you will love this novel too or if your not, the book is still pretty amazing to read.

There are certain Neurological disorders that Science is still struggling to explain. Trauma is the response to a deeply distressing or disturbing events that overwhelms an individual’s ability to cope, causes feelings of helplessness, diminishes their sense of their self and their ability to feel the full range of emotions and experiences.

Impact of the Trauma

Millions of the people experiences some type of traumatic event at least once in their lifetime. Most of the people experience post traumatic stress disorder and the reasons can be countless.

Trauma can be cause due to major accident, community disputes, legal disputes, problems in marriage life or problems in love affairs, soldiers fighting in the war, physical or sexual abuse in adult age or in childhood and many more.

There are many children rich or poor, no matter what kind of background they belong to, it doesn’t matter. Parent protect their children from all kinds of predators in the outside world. But what if the predators belong in our family and friends, people that we trust, the people with whom we share our life and tell our problems to. As the rate of child abuse increases year after years, most of the cases belong to domestic abuse and violence.

Children are more prone to trauma as their brains are still developing. Some kids express thier problems and some kids shut those bad memories out (it’s like locking out your bad memories in a box) that its traces disappears in time and the person appears to be normal, but it doesn’t mean those memories are gone forever.

Childhood trauma

No one knows what damages it will cause to an individual while growing up to be a strong and sane, fighting against the bad things that has happened to them.

But for some, their entire life is changed. It affects their social life, the ability to trust people are gone. No one can imagine the extent of it harm in anyone’s brain. A childhood innocence is destroyed in a blink.

Different trauma face by people

Some trauma raise certain psychological problems, in other words Neurological Disorders. Such trauma may causes disorders like PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorders), DID/MPD (Dissociative Identity Disorder/ Multiple Personality Disorder), depression, anxiety, substance abuse problem.Children are soft hearted, but such trauma destroys all the goodness in them.

About the Book

Someone is following her. She has read about the stalker but she has no idea who would harm her. She was trying to stay strong, but lately her sleep had been filled with nightmares and she had awakened each morning with a feeling of impending doom. The story revolves around three beautiful women, who are suspected of committing a series of brutal murders. The police makes an arrest that leads to one of the most bizzare murder trials of the century.

Based on real medical cases, Sheldon’s novel races from London to Rome to the city of Quebec to San Francisco, with the a climax that will leave the reader stunned. The struggling woman, the revengeful lust, the court room drama, the nail bitting suspense and trills, will make the reader to told on to their books.

Sidney Sheldon always does (as mentioned above), the reader still keeps on visualising the outcome of the end even though the book has ended.

So my reader, go on and start your day with this book.

Happy Reading !!!
