About the Novel
Nicholas Sparks has yet managed again to portray the different shades of human emotions. This book is about Russ Green who has everything, that one can dream about. A great family, a lovely wife, a beautiful daughter, and an awesome career. Everything was going well, and then one day Russ decided that he wanted more from his career. He decided to quit his job and start his own business, and that was when everything changed in his life. But in all this chaos, the one person who should be with him was his sister Marge.
Russ struggles in most part of the story from the time he opens his own firm, and Vivian decide to take a job to support her family and her lifestyle. That where the story take a turn and Russ’s bubble of happiness burst out. As Vivian gets a full time job, Russ had to take care of the house, London and her other artistic activities, mostly imposed by Vivian. You’ll find Vivian very dominating throughout the story.
My Thought
Normally I’m fascinated and excited about stories with female lead. Their struggle to balance out their work and family life always encourages me. But this book captured my attention till the end, as a man, who is true to his relationship; had to struggle though many huddles in his life.
Russ is an idol husband, that I always dreamed off. My husband is the most laziest man on earth. Russ, cooks, takes care of his daughter, arranges date night with his wife, OMG!, I almost wished my husband would be like him, but I brought myself to reality, such mens are just myths and can be found in books only.
Divorce, being such a small word, it has a big impact on one life. Sometimes, this can save a life, but sometimes, it has the power to destroy families. For some, divorce is an easy getaway, when they fall out of love.
But in this fight, the most affected are the kids whose world just turns upside down. Whatever, they know about family, relationship and their dreams all blown away with a sign over the papers. No matter, the result of a divorce be good or bad, it changes everyone’s life in a blink.
We all are humans, and we are bound to make mistakes but what makes us wise is what we’ve learn from our mistakes, and try to build a good relationship with everyone.
